I bought a db meter from radio shack the other weekend to recalibrate my system with the new speakers. My CF-3's had speaker 1 with the mesh screen in place, speaker 2 was missing it. So I removed the mesh screen from speaker 1 because it sounded brighter that the other. This helped. When I was recalibrating the speakers with white noise I found out that speaker 2(originally without the screen) is 1.5 db lower than the other! Also I can hear the difference in volume. I call Klipsch and the replacement driver is $210. I just want to know if anyone here thinks that the driver in speaker 2 could be damaged or if it might be a crossover problem?
