chameloman72
Hey fellas, I haven't posted here in awhile, but do have a question...opinion? I own a pair of RF-5's now, but saw a pair of RP-3's locally. In your guy's opinion, would the RP-3's be a step down or an improvement over my RF-5's? I like the idea of powered sub's as I think it would remove strain from my amp and maybe give me a little cleaner sound. Any and all comments welcome! Thanks
peshewah
Is a RP-3 a floor stand speaker?
peshewah
I found the spec's on the RP-3's and although they looks pretty good I don't think they would hold a candle to your 5's. If you don't have a amp, you might consider one. Or a subwoofer but as in a seperate unit. That way you can place were it sounds the best. I'm sure someone else with alot more knowledge will chim in. Fish
I have a pair of rp3's and they're actually very nice.I was surprised with the sound quality and bass.I would however prefer 5's, a good amp and a good sub.The difference in used price should be noted about $400 rp vs $750 5's +sub. And the rp's have a low hum when plugged in regardless of being on or off. pguff
I was also looking at some RP-3s. Would it be a better deal getting these at $230 or some Polk Monitor 60s at $220? It's hard to find any info on the RP-3s. These would be in the only 2 speakers in my bedroom.
