RobW
This is my first post so here we go and I hope I have posted in the correct forum.I have a Klipsch Synergy Sub-10. From searching on-line to figure out this problem I have found it uses a BASH amplifier which isn't the greatest. I don't want to buy a new amp to have it fail again.Question; when I turn the sub on to listen to music or whatever the sub sounds fine. As I let it run the problem starts to show. It will start making a "Chirping" sound like a bird that is heard from the speaker every time the bass hits. You cannot hear this sound when the volume is at low level but once the volume is increased the chirping sound will appear. I have narrowed it down to the amp. I hope this makes sense and would love some input on this problem.Thanks.
CECAA850
Welcome to the forum. How exactly did you narrow it down to the amp?
RobW
Thank you. I used a different powered sub for the receiver to verify it wasn't the receiver and it wasn’t.Removed the amp from the speaker and ran it out side of the box, problem still occurred.Connected the amp to a different sub and problem still occurred.I bought another powered sub. I disconnected the known good amp and ran it on the problematic synergy sub. Sub ran fine and was without the "Chirping" sound.
CECAA850
Have you checked to see if Klipsch still has the "exchange" units available? They were rebuilt amps with a fairly attractive price tag. They seem to have a better lifespan than the originals.
RobW
The amp was sent in for an exhcnage when they were charging $60. Now that the price has gone up to $120 it's not worth it and I don't want to pay due to the fact the amp didn't run long until the problem shown up. CECAA850
I'd call Klipsch and ask for help (free). Tell them you had one amp that was junk and the replacement amp is junk too. It doesn't hurt to ask.
