Tips for changing Promedia 2.1 Sub Fuse?

So sub has been intermittently functioning without any loss of signal to L/R. Low volumes are okay, but anything more than say 15% yields no bass.

After browsing forums I purchased 4-pack of Radio Shack 270-1064. Attempting to remove fuse cover in what I thought was common sense quarter turns with gentle pressure (repeatedly) has resulted in... nothing. I thought hey... maybe those kids in China assembled the thread reversed... nope. (Guess a nickel a day is well-spent labor). So back to counterclockwise repeated attempts. even tried popping it out with 2 razor tips; failed.

So apparently I'm not smarter than the fuse... any ideas would be appreciated. [:S]

If I recall correctly you push in on center while turning it almost 180 degrees counter clockwise, it is spring loaded and should pop right out after that, but I doubt the fuse is your problem. typically a fuse like that is either good or bad and since it is a power fuse the system would work or not work. but by all means, check it out and let us know what you come up with.
