FranklinCawen Posted January 14, 2011 Share Posted January 14, 2011 Sorry for being so late to post something but we have been VERY busy with company and working on a new room. I got the Headphones I won from klipsch and to my surprise it was the Image X5, I was not expecting this model to be honest. I love them, I did not have any headphones and it has been years since I last owned even the over the ear style and they were not a really good sounding set. I was very surprised at the difference in modern well made headphones. Well I am not going on saying the normal things like " I can hear things I have not heard before ", but I did ! They are very clear and detailed and not having in ear headphones before there is a difference for the better. There is one thing I noticed, I keep saying " just one more song " and I will get back to work, and I end up listening for another hour. They really sound good and are comfortable enough to wear for long periods, you forget there on. The bass is great but the midrange and high frequencies are unbelievable, the overall sound is perfect to my ears. After years of noisy jobs my ears are far from perfect and then add in my age 52 and no matter how good a speaker is some sounds are not as clear from a speaker that is across the room, and I am not just talking about the normal high frequency loss from age. But with these in ear headphones it must be helping with some of that, I seem to be hearing the music in much more detail and clarity and I have not turned them up very much at all so it's not volume. Overall they are very comfortable and sound great, I need to get something portable so I can use them outside and other places. BLSamuel Posted January 14, 2011 Share Posted January 14, 2011 Congratulations! The Image X5 are my favorite of the in ear 'phones. We have the Image X10 but I think the X5's sound better. Tough call for my second favoirite as the Custom 3 have the best sound but I only ever auditioned the Custom 3 for a few minutes. The Custom 3 definitely win for sound quality over the X10 but the X10 are so easy to use. The X5 sound clearer to me but I think it's more midrange and a more forward sound and I've not found them lacking at all in bass when I've been able to try them and compare to the X10. Enjoy!
