Wrinklemash
Trying to replace and power cord for a KSW-15 subwoofer. Some critter knawed on it and the previous owner put electrical tape over the damage. It works fine but I'd like to replace the cord. Pulled the plate amp off to expose the internal connections and there is this brownish glue over many of the connections. Can anyone tell me what this stuff is and the best way to remove and then replace it? Original was an 18 gauge zip cord, moving up to 16 gauge zip cord. Davecv41
It sounds like leftover flux from soldering. Good soldering practice is to remove it after the solder is cool, but it won't hurt anything if left in place.
