kevinhcraig
Hi all, this is my first post, so be gentle! I have RF-25s for the front (biwired), and an RC-52 as the center. I am looking to get a 5.1 setup, so what advice would you give for surrounds and subwoofer? Receiver is an Onkyo HT-R667. Any help is greatly appreciated! cornfedksboy
Try the RS-42 or 52s for surround. They aren't timbre matched but will sound very good. These speakers are quite expensive new, but can be found used. The RS-25s are designed to pair up, but I don't like the design of those surrounds as much...also they are a little hard to find. kevinhcraig
Unfortunately, the RS-42's and above are a bit out of my price range right now - I should have mentioned that. However, I really want to stick with Klipsch for the rears. Someone is selling a pair of Synergy S-1's for $100. I know these are no match for the RS series, but will they still sound decent? SuBXeRo
rb-10's will run you around 100 used on craigslist. Surrounds are supposed to timbre match the rest of your system but its not 100% necessary since they are behind you and really are only used about 20-30% of the time.
