fs1
Hi, My mini-bookshelf speakers have their ports at the front part, so I can wall mount them without blocking the port. So what is the consensus here, in terms of sound quality, which is better to have them on metal speaker stands or to wall mount them on either concrete wall or wood wall? soundog
Metal stand allow you to experiment with placement and direction speakers fire. Wall is more limiting. However, if you can, try all options. Its impossible to predict how a speaker will sound in a room with out experimentation. ------------------ Soundog's HT Systems
TheEAR
I would not mount speakers on a wall unless they were designed to be wall mounted. Sat speakers always sound better on stands, some distance from the walls.Imaging, the whole sound stage is larger, less colorations caused by the room. cluless
Ear, Would ANY form of speaker stand, short of one mounted on a 4 foot concrete footing survive attack of your lynx kitty?
HornEd
I agree with the stands concept for they provide the flexibility it takes to properly set up an HT environment... particularly for rear ported speakers. Since your ports are in front, wall mounting is feasible... but I would suggest that you use some sort of "omni-mount" so that the critical direction common to horn speakers be carefully determined. -HornED
