Klipsch Promedia 2.1 Control Pod Problem

Recommended Posts

Hi, I recently purchased a Klipsch 2.1 Promedia Computer Speaker set about 2 months ago from Best Buy. System has been working great until recently. Problem seems to be the volume control on the control pod. The right speaker is louder then the left speaker and when you turn down the volume there is still sound coming from the right speaker. The problem can be recreated by wiggling the volume control. Doing this makes the volume spike up and down on both channels and corrects the problem if you hold it in a certain position. But as soon as you let it go the problem comes back. I was wondering if this was a problem with the control pod itself and the fact that so many have a problem with this part makes me almost certain that is where the problem lies. I would really hate to have to take it back to Best Buy, have to wait 4-8 weeks and have them send back everything if the problem is isolated to the control pod. If there is no other way around it but to send it back, I think I will just shell out the extra money for an extra control pod. So far I am very disappointed in an otherwise excellent set of computer speakers. I would really appreciate any input, thanks.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Wiggling the cable or plug in the back of the sub does not change anything. I contacted Klipsch and received an email stating that they will ship a free replacement. Since the control pod seems to have a high fail rate, I hope I can get the original fixed through somebody from Ebay so I can have an extra spare. Do you service these items Mister Clean? Or just provide replacements parts? Thanks for your feedback and time!
