Do you do a light sanding then a re-oil or do you need to take all the finish off? Has anyone attempted to take the oak and stain to a darker color(near black. analog_audio Posted December 19, 2002 Share Posted December 19, 2002 Hi, I do own a pair of KG2 on which the finish fade after the dry 'indoor' winters in Canada. I simply use Lemon Oil polish every 3 to 6 months. Prior to the first time I did lightely sand with the grain. Since I am a oil finish lover, this suit me fine.
