Blue Devil Tarheel
Seriously--tight budget here, so I am wondering if this is just stupid but I have a set of KG2's that right now are in my daughter's room (she's 5) and I have read these have Phenolic tweeters, which seem to be as good or better than titanium while Chorus II has poly. They are both 1" sooo....what if I switch them?? Mainly listen to the Chorus II now that I got them (for $100, see my other post for the details, if interested). Bring on the verbal abuse, please. (I know the "right" answer is to cough up the $50 and get titanium. Just thinking out of the box here)
DrWho
Why do you want to change the drivers? or diaphragms? Btw, the phase plug is built into the driver on the Chorus II squawker, so you really can't change it out. Best upgrade I can think of would be that $35 QSC horn at parts express, and then pick a driver. The PSD2002 at $65 is probably tbe cheapest. And then of course there's the need for a new xover, so maybe that's too crazy. Anyways, just food for thought.
Blue Devil Tarheel
I was just looking to upgrade the tweeter domes on the cheap -not to get crazy. more than anything I was curious as to whether the switch was possible, assuming that the phenolic dome on the KG2 was better than the poly on the Chorus II thanks
djk
The tweeter diaphragms are interchangeable, go ahead and swap them.
