AnalOg
Hi All, I'm installing these caps this weekend to replace the Audio 1 caps in there now. Can someone tell me if it matters the orientation of how the 2.0uf 400 vdc cap is installed. I notice there is a green wire on one side and a red on the other. Does it matter how the signal flows through the cap to be optimal? Thanks, Tom
Don Richard
Common practice is to connect the wire going to the outside foil of the capacitor to ground if it is a bypass or the point in the circuit with the lowest potential. This is for hum reduction.
AnalOg
Dang, I just realized I ordered a 400vdc cap instead of a 600vdc cap. And from what I gather a 600vdc cap is not available in 2.2uf.
Guest " "
two 4.4uf 400v caps in series will provide 2.2uf of capacitance with a voltage potential of 800v.
