Minutes were read and approved. Eric reported on recent Social Lounge painting efforts. The university painters are swamped with work, and the lounge may only be finished by October break. Final architectual approval has apparently been given for the plan. Kurt and Eric detailed the results of their shopping trip for speakers for the Social Lounge area. They strongly recommended purchasing a pair of Klipsch- La Scala heavy duty speakers at a cost of approximately $1750.00. Discussion then centered on whether to accept the recommendation and how to finance the cost. Kurt moved the following -- Motion: The House Committee shall purchase the Klipsch-La Scala Speakers at a cost of $1750.00. Passed 7 for, 3 abstentions. Rich announced that sports T-shirts would be available at the beginning of the season this year (hoorayr) and suggested that a charge of $1/shirt was not unreasonable. Murmurs of assent were heard around the table. David Eisenberg identified two pressing needs within his purview: a workable washer and drier for the Annexes and a double-decker drier for the Old GC. He moved the following -- Motion: Purchasing priorities for the following year shall be a) a washing machine and drier for the Annexes and a double decker drier for the Old GC. Passed unanimously. The price of washing will be increased to 50¢ to defray costs. Dhammika Amaratunga of the FSC reported that they will delay planning a party until November. Dan and Dave requested help with the weekend's extravaganzas. The meeting was adjourned at 10:00 P.M.
