Epic CF-3 Version 3

I have heard the CF-3 Version 3’s pretty much bashed here (for a lack of better words) with someone who seems very knowledgeable even saying “just stay away from them”. My question is are they really that bad? Do they serve no purpose at all? Specifically what areas do they lack in. Not necessarily always comparing them to Version 1’s, but let’s say comparing them to another model speaker like a KG-5.5 or Forte II etc.. Does anyone own a pair of version 3's and have anything good to say about them?

I have a pair of CF 4 that I believe is version 3, and what I like about them is they sound "cleaner, or more detailed than my 89 Forte 2, and my Heresy 2, and the Kg 5.2.

I have other brands I also rotate in occasionally, but they seem dull in comparison.

I was lucky to get a good deal on the 4's 5 years ago, and the only downside for me is the size and heft.

Hope this is helpful

Thanks for the input. I love my Forte II’s and KG 5.5’s. If CF3 Ver 3’s are in that ball park, great. I have a chance to buy a pair at a reasonable price. The only problem is they are in storage and I won’t be able to audition them. I realize up to a certain point it’s mainly preference. I just wanted to find out if there are any very noticeable negative differences not specific to preference. Maybe I will get them and keep my eye out for Version 1’s so I can do a side by side analysis.
