Yes, because you will be using the analog outs on the BDP-95 as it has about the most robust DAC made. Make sure you make the source for blurays analog in your processor settings if you intend on running an hdmi and rca's to your processor. You can also simply run hdmi to the TV, and rca's to the processor, and switch the tv input source when using the blu ray player.

Wow times must be tough or Iam the last cheap guy not to upgrade to hdmi.

You're joking, right? HDMI transfers the digital signal to the video and the audio circuitry. In the case of the video circuitry, the direct to video is the best method, as no processing is done. In the case of audio, the speakers need analog input. The digital signal needs to be converted to analog somewhere between the source and the speakers. The BEST place for this to be done is the peice of equipment which has the best DAC. In the case of the Oppo BDP-95, you use the ANALOG outputs for audio because there isn't a better DAC out there.

If you buy the BDP-95 and don't use the RCA or XLR outs, you wasted $500, because you should have bought the BDP-93, which does not have the audiophile DA Converter.

Every digital source needs a DAC to play on speakers or headphones. Pandora, MP3's, CD's, DVD's, BluRays, SACD's, and DVD-A's all are digital sources. They cannot play on any speaker without having Digital to Analog Conversion. D.A.C.
