Schwa
I was refinishing the fronts of my beloved RF-3s this evening and, while removing the drivers, noticed that one of my speakers' tweeters had a gasket behind it and the other did not. Short of buying a new tweeter, is there any way to get my hands on a replacement gasket? If not, is there something I could use instead? I suppose it's no big deal if I can't get the gasket since I've had the speakers for 11 years and just now noticed that one of the tweeter gaskets was missing, but still... michael hurd
You can use thin closed cell foam weatherstripping sold at hardware and auto parts stores, cut it to length with a nice sharp razor knife and don't stretch it when you cut it or apply it, otherwise it will pull back a bit and may cause a leak. Look for 1/8th inch thickness foam. A slight overlap of a 1/16th of an inch will crush down just fine.

Schwa
Another follow up question...do I want the adhesive-backed (tape) weatherstripping? That's all I can seem to find.
michael hurd
Yes, you can apply the sticky side to the cabinet or the tweeter, I would probably apply it to the cabinet though myself, I have done that in the past.Use a sharp o-ring pick / awl / screwdriver to poke through where the screws need to go.
