yavozerb
How can I connect a sub to a reciever with only speaker wire run between to 2 locations with no rca jacks at ends and only a rca jack connection to reciever? Is there some adapter I could use to place rca jacks on each end of the speaker wire? Thanks
wake175m5
it sounds like you are trying to connect a low level output or LFE out from your receiver to a passive sub. you need an active sub to plug into that connection from your receiver. an active sub is one that needs to be plugged into the wall. hope this helps at least a little bit
mustang guy
If you are talking about making a speaker wire into an RCA wire you just put ends like this on: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=092-110 You have to put RCA plugs on both ends. Do not connect the speaker wire to the receiver at the speaker outs, and connect the other end to the LFE or low level RCA inputs on your sub. You will cause lots of sparks and burn your house down. Get a soldering iron while you are there if you don't own one. I assume the cable is pulled into a wall, as you are not buying a regular RCA patch cable. They are cheap, and are also available at Radio Shack.
