Humm in speakers

Recommended Posts

Hey all!

I am about 3 weeks into my first system

Rotel RMB 1095 amp

Rotel RSP 1066 Processor

Monster HTS5100 Power center

Sony dvpns700p dvd player

Klipsch RF7

Klipsch RC7

Klipsch RSW7

no sub yet.My Problem is when I turn my system on I hear a humm in all 5 speakers. You have to put your ear to the speaker to hear it.(am I to paranoid)

When I sit in my chair listening to 2 channel the buzz from the rear speakers is noticeable.I did put in a cheater plug which helped the humm a little.

I just want to know if the humm is normal or is

there something else to try?

Thankscwm34.gif

I know someone who had similar problems. He had also the Rotel RMB 1095. Even when everything was unplugged , except the speakers the humm was still present (As in your case when listening in 2 channel the rears are disconnected(in RSP 1066) except the Rotel RMB-1095). He went back to the dealer with it. They connect the RMB 1095 and also humm but it was a lot less. His dealer had another RMB 1095 with totaly no humm. According to the dealer it was "a kind of a revised one".

He tried it at home ... Still humm but a lot less.

I think some RMB 1095 are sensitive to the quality of the mains supply.

John Michael:

Sorry for the RF-7 foot problem. Make sure if you move them again you do not tilt them sideways putting all the weight of the speaker on one or two feet. I've moved several of them around in training and have not damaged one yet by following that rule. You can call 1-800-KLIPSCH for replacement feet.
