colterphoto1
need a couple xovers for my gym, only need 2 way mono, will this unit do that? It has to sum two inputs to a LF mono and HF mono as they only have one stereo amp, 4 top speakers and two passive subs. Thanks
kg4guy
Heres the info http://www.ashly.com/spec-sheets/xr2001.pdf I think it's two XR 1001 actives in one so I would think you could do 2 way 4 channel I may be mistaken though? Michael C
The XR2001 will not do a mono summing of both low frequency and high frequency outputs. I will do a low frequency mono sum out. It's basically four two way crossovers in one unit that can be operated as four independent 2 way crossovers or two three way crosovers. A handy trick you can do with it is put it in three way mode and apply the divided by 10 on the frequency selection that would be from lows to mids and use it like a two way crossover. The low amp would be connected to the mid output and the high amp still connected to high output. Your crossover point would be set using the mid to high frequency selection the low to mid frequency selection would act as a varialble high pass filter. kg4guy
Here is the email from Jim from Ashly when he was explaining the active and how to set it.From: Jim Schwenzer To: Ara Ayrassian Sent: Thu, July 28, 2011 9:57:25 AM Subject: RE: XR-2001 Page 8 of your owner's manual shows an XR-1001 used for mono 3-way operation. You will do exactly that same set up, only you will do it twice. The XR-2001 is exactly the equivalent of two XR-1001's, stacked on top of each other. You will use the tops half of the unit for the left side of your PA, and the bottom half of the unit for the right side of your PA. You will need to engage the divide by 10 range switches on the left side of the unit, (channels 1 & 3), to get down into a range suitable for low / mid frequency cross-over point. You will see yellow lights on channel 1 & 3, green lights on ch.2 & 4. You will need to set the frequency knobs appropriately for your speakers, (really rough guess somewhere around 100Hz & 2 KHz). If you still need help, call us when you are in front of the unit. 800-828-6308 *
