Building my own cable's:

Recommended Posts

Well, mining copper is pretty easy in Nevada...

Anyway, tell me about building cables. Is somthing like partsexpress.com the place to get stuff? What do I need to know.

I build my network (sucessful 4 computer CAT 5e network!) and phone lines, so I can work with wire.

I am talking about interconnectors, speaker cable is pretty easy.

CAT 5e (1 GB/s.) is a *****. We have 4 computers on the network. Three upstairs and one downstairs. The two farthest computers are almost 50 feet apart. ALSO, we have the router/firewall and DSL modem in the garage, and we had to run 50+ feet of phone wire under the house. ALSO, we had to run phone line to three of the computers (for phone). Also, we installed 4 Leviton 4-jack plates with phone, CAT 5e, and coax TV on them. We also build ~15 cables...

Well, its done. It would have cost around a $1,000 to have someone do the job. It was NOT A BIT OF FUN. Well, downloading warez at 200KB/s. is a BLAST!!!

Now, how can I get T1 or T3. How about OC-192 (10 GB/s.)
