A 10000th post about the Image S4

Really, i did try to find similiar posts with the same problems I face with, but I found none.

Aaanyway, I bought my Klipsch Image S4's somewhere in the middle of last summer. I've been happily listening to every kind of music and all around enjoying my set of the phones. Blahblahblah and whatnot, ive been a happy customer until now. I started experiencing problems about a month ago. At first, the sound started vanishing from the other earphone. This was easily fixed by rotating the connector so that i could find a spot where it would work. It worked some time, but then i noticed that the sound started to become distorted and thin from both pairs. Same fix, but this time it was harder to find the correct spot. And as time went by the problem got worse, and now im left a distorted, thin, and un-listenable sound. So, i believe that the problem is with the connector being somehow broken or damaged. I have stored them in the case that was provided with the phones, but i have lost a few of the earbuds (yeah, happens to everybody). Still, the exterior of the headphones is worn to some extent, mainly the rubber parts breaking and slicing. Im not a complete audiophile, but i know a thing or two about sound quality. Therefore i can assure that these are the real thing, and not some fake. Also they have lasted way too long to be copies. I bought these on Amazon, but i cant recall which seller it was. Of course i bought them new, and from an authorized seller, that most propably was amazon itself.

I would like to know what should i do next, because i want my dear Klipsches back, because i love them with all my heart. Can't survive another dreading bussride without music.

Oh, and i live in Finland if that's useful in some way. I propably missed something but please ask for more info if needed.

This being my first post, i apologize for my grammar errors as english isn't my native language.

Quantiq,

Your grammar if fine. If you're in the US and bought these from Amazon then they should still be under warranty. Amazon may have a receipt available from your account and should have sent you an email. If you are outside the US then it gets more difficult but the seller should still honor warranty. In all cases you will need your receipt. Dig for that receipt. You might also try calling Amazon if you can't find it as maybe they can find things you can't from online. And even try your credit card statements. Again the card company may be able to reproduce that if you can't find it. Many cc companines now maintain quite a bit of statement history online so now might be a good time to access your online account or create one.

Klipsch custoemr support is first rate but they do require proof of purchase. They cannot honor warranty issues without proof due to all the counterfeits and grey market goods. Klipsch sued 23 manufactures in China for manufacturing and selling counterfeit Image S4. The Image S4 may be a leader in counterfeits produced and possibly is in electroincs. The Chineese governments history of treating patents, copyrightes, and trademarks as suggestions is getting better as in the past have been treated like suggestions. It should be interesting to see how this all plays out and if China reallly is improving on recognizing patents, trademarks, and copyrights.

Good luck.
