sfatula
I have a pair of KSP-400's which I love, a center S5, and, a pair of KSF-S5. The KSF-S5 I always thought didn't pump out enough sound in a 5.1 setup. New HT room will be 7.1 setup, so, will need (at least) 2 more speakers. I was thinking the KSF-S5 might be better as surround back speakers. Any thoughts on that? So, the question then becomes, what would match these speakers as side surrounds? mustang guy
IMO, the KSF- S5's would be best left as surrounds to the sides, and the rears should be something like KSP-S6's or KSP-300's depending on floor standing or wall mount. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Klipsch-KSP-S6-Speaker-Black-Pair-Very-nice-/260968387066?pt=Speakers_Subwoofers&hash=item3cc2ed91fa http://www.ebay.com/itm/Klipsch-KSP-300-Speakers-/360431058085?pt=Speakers_Subwoofers&hash=item53eb5d7ca5
sfatula
They've always been too quiet for my taste. Nothing like the sides in a theater. Have you used both the S5 and S6? And if so, do you find the S6 any louder at the same volume playing the same thing?
