Bill H.
I just got a Creek integrated amp. Due to budget limitations (kids new glasses), I have to wait on the tuner. Can I hook up my Klipsch speakers, and cd player to the amp and run it through my present Onkyo receiver? Or does anyone have other suggestions for me. New to this type of set up. ------------------ Bill
ShapeShifter
If you want the receiver in the audio chain with the integrated amp here's an option assuming the receiver has Left & Right Pre-Out or Audio Out RCA terminals in the rear. Connect the CD to the receiver, then connect L/R interconnect cables from the Onkyo's L/R Pre-Outs or Audio Outs to the appropriate L/R inputs on the Creek integrated. Connect speaker cables from the Creek to your Klipsch speakers. You would have to all three (CD, receiver & Creek) units on to listen to music. If you set the volume level on the Creek, you can use the receiver's remote (if so) to serve as the master volume control. Another simpler option, if the Creek has volume control, is to connect the CD directly to Creek. Which I sure you are aware of this one. In the photo of my fronts I have an Jolida 102B Integrated connected to my NAD T761 Receiver via the Audio Outs with interconnects. I've set a reference level for the volume control on the Jolida. I switch speaker leads from the receiver to the Jolida when I want to play it, primarily for 2 channel music. I have the CD throught the receiver to the Jolida, and control the volume with the receivers remote. It works well, but it also helps to remember which unit the speakers are connected before turining on the equipment! ShapeShifter
Bill, Couldn't bring the previous post back up from work, so I'm adding this as an addition. Want to ask if you feel there's some advantage to, or benefit from routing the signal through the Creek then to the receiver? Many do this with Tube Preamps to add warmth the signal. If you choose your proposed method, you would want to route from the Creek via Pre Outs or Tape Outs, as opposed an output path that adds a significant gain to the signal. It's also considered unwise to power an amp without a speaker load too!. Wes ------------------ KLIPSCH IS MUSICf> My Systems f>s>c>
Ray Garrison
I'd just hook the Tape Out jacks on the receiver to the Tape In jacks on the Creek. Set your record selector on the Onkyo to the tuner, and engage the tape monitor (whatever it's called - you might have a "Monitor" switch on the Creek, or you might have a source selector for "Tape 1" or something...) and you should be all set. ------------------ Music is art Audio is engineering Ray's Music System
