  1. Hi Bob, Another contributions on made on behalf of Lynnm. Sincerely, Wes The Bible says when sorrow comes It will endure the night. But joy shall come when dawn breaks through And fills your day with light. Now keep your thoughts on Jesus' love And how He hurts with you. He'll shelter you while in this storm Until your sun breaks through. Lynnm, you will be missed.

That way any settlement claim is paid to me. Greg ---------------- Greg has the best approach in becoming your own shipper. Get your own UPS account, so you are the claimant and no third party is involved. I do the same for my expensive or rare shipments. I've also handled claims as the shipper. Never had a problem with UPS, as they have settled quickly and for the entire amount of the insured item. The have always sent inspectors to view the damaged goods though. I always take pictures of the merchandise before boxing, then picture of boxes after packing. Those photos are included with the claim documents. After settlement, I generally allow UPS to leave the damaged goods with the recipient, because I have no need for damaged goods. Wish you the best. Wes
  3. Don't sweat it this year...fall is very close for us Midwesterners. BTW - I need to start scraping and painting before that time rolls around.
  4. These three were well known in their day, but I don't recall them being recorded by others. Ray Stevens: Jeremiah Peabody's Poly Unsaturated Quick Dissolving Fast Acting Pleasant Tasting Green and Purple Pills. 1961 "The Streak". 1974 Roger Miller: King Of The Road. 1965
  5. Jim Cornell is a form member in the Denver, CO area. If you want to hear a pair of 1973 Klipschorns. I do believe his are also for sale. If you are interested in hearing them, shoot him an email or Private Message (PM) from this forum.
  6. I have a 2003 S40 and really enjoy it. Recently test drove a 2005 S40 T5 with the Auto 5 Speed Geartronic Transmission. Man....did I have a fun time sprinting through the gears. I'm strongly considering selling my 2003 and ordering a loaded 2006 S40 T5 with the Dynamic Trim Packlage next Feb 06. Spring should arrive by the time it arrives on this side of the pond. Best of luck to ya! Wes
  7. Ben.Congratulations!! Daimler Chrysler is ok as a Euro American car company. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> However, If you are considering an import, then take a look at Volvos V50 Wagons. Presently, all Volvo models qualify for Ford's Employee Family Plan pricing. Also many dealers are contributing cash incentives for their remaining 2005 inventory. Employee pricing, rebates and incentives would bring the V50 models price down well within or below your price range. 2.4i T5 Turbo T5 Turbo AWD 168 HP 218 HP 218 HP Base Invoice Price: $24,466 $25,990 $27,657 Heated Mirrors Std. 8. Bi-amping is said to be the best. They say the use of tube amps for the HF section and SS amplification for the LF (bass) section is way better than bi-wiring.
  9. One wouldn't want to just toss those items in the back of vans or pick-ups. Would take several days just for packing. Still think best method would be crate or containers, then ship via a commercial carrier. MHO
  10. I think the biggest issue would be the large $$$ associated with insuring, packaging, shipping and subsequent storage. Individual packing & shipment would not be cost effective. Items would have to be consolidated in crates or containers. The logistics and costs involved in the movement of such an extensive collection is considerable.
  11. That movie was POWER from 1986. Starred: Richard Gere, Julie Christie, Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Opening sequence begins with Gere practicing drumming to the music of Benny Goodman's version of SING SING SING, with Gene Krupa drumming.
  12. I listen to very little radio in Detroit Metro area. My opinion is their are no really good jazz stations broadcasting. For my Khorn system I bought a NAD 4300 AM/FM Tuner. Use it for those times that I want to listen to special classic jazz broadcasts, or to have continuous music playing while I do household chores. The NAD tuner works well for me, and it's connected to a Magnum Dynalab ST-2 Antenna. An inexpensive, but effective combo.
  13. Tim, Congratulations! They are a GREAT looking pair. Thought I would resize and put all three images in one post for ya. Enjoy...Wes

I was wondering which platform you use and does it work even at mid/high volume being so close to the right speaker. Travis Austin, Texas ---------------- Travis, I use Bright Star's IsoRock 4 Platform. It's rated as a good isolation platform for tables that incoorporate some type built-in suspension. It works well for me as I have had practically no vibration issues. My components are actually on the wall to the left of the left speaker. Please note that Mid/High volumes for me are achieved with 45 Set Amps (1.8 Watts). So others Mileage Might Vary (MMV) significantly. Wes Here are some recommendations from Bright Star based on suspension type of TT. TURNTABLES (with internal suspensions): MINIMUM a set of IsoNode feet under the turntable. GOOD an IsoRock under the turntable. BETTER a Big Rock under the turntable. BEST an Air Mass/Big Rock combination under the turntable. TURNTABLES (without internal suspensions): MINIMUM a set of IsoNode feet under the turntable. GOOD an IsoRock under the turntable. BETTER An Air Mass under the turntable. BEST an Air Mass/Big Rock combination under the turntable. Note They manufacture specific models for VPI, Well Tempered, Basis and Micro Seiki turntables.

  17. When reissued vinyl isn't available, I will continue to buy CD's for those rare and highly prized LP's that I'm unwilling to pay unreasonable prices. My main focus will continue to be good vinyl at fair prices. Have pretty much avoided eBay for LP's, as their prices have been way over-the-top for quite a while. Unfortunately, digital will remain a source based on vinyl availability and pricing.

If I don't get any other viable suggestions I may just do that. Thanks!" ---------------- Yea, six hours away does put a different spin on the suggested swap out with your dad. If you are in Southeast Michigan area, I'm willing to help with a local swap out. Wes
  19. Those look nice to me. You can buy a Minwax's Blend-Fil Pencil. They allow you to easily fill in shallow to moderate scratches, dings or nail holes. Home Depot has them for less than two bucks. I've used Minwax's Blend-Fil Pencils and Wood Finish Stain Markers to make repairs.
  20. Those two speakers are vastly different, so I feel any comparisons are not really adequate. However, room and placement are critical for good results from Belles. I recommend getting your dad to loan you his Belle Crossovers, then see if the results are the same as with your originals. That comparison should give you a good indication as to whether you need upgrades. Wish you the best. Wes

Can someone confirm that? Thanks ---------------- They are 1978 models as you stated. I have a pair of 1976 Belle Klipsch too. They are very nice speakers, however, you've been spoiled by the bass of Klipschorns, and those Belles can never equal those. Most people migrate from Belles to Klipschorns, your progression is vastly different. Also, the placement of Belles is crucial for good results! BTW - As HT Fronts, mine perform very well with their original crossovers. Wes

That wall is a few inches shy of 25'. ---------------- Did you buy the house based on the fact that it had a great wall for khorns? When I was looking at houses I actually dismissed 3 houses due to the fact that they didn't have a room big enough for my Belles. The houses I bought wasn't optimal but it did have a room that would be ok for them. ---------------- It's a quad with just a bit over 2300 sq ft. So the thought of having enough space to have seperate rooms on different floors for HT and two 2 Channel systems was the main driver. Being able to accomodate K-horns was pure luck! Wes

  24. Said, " Say a prayer for me." She threw her arms around him, Whispered, "God will keep us free." They could hear the riders comin, He said, "This is my last fight. If they take me back to Texas, They won't take me back alive." There were seven Spanish Angels, At the alter of the Sun. They were prayin' for the lovers, In the valley of the gun. When the battle stopped, And the smoke cleared. There was thunder from the throne. And seven Spanish angels, Took another angel home. She reached down and picked the gun up, That lay smokin in his hand. She said, "Father please forgive me, I can't make it without my man." And she knew the gun was empty, And she knew she couldn't win. Her final prayer was answered, When the rifles fired again.
