Max_Durham
My HT room is not ideally shaped. It has two openings (one of which is rather large). The size and shape affect placement of all speakers. Is placing the sub in the corner BEHIND the TV and component stand (they are angled across the corner) a good idea? Would this block sound? Would the sound come "up" as opposed to "out" of the corner? This corner is opposite the large opening. Max
HornEd
Max, subwoofer waves can be as long as 34 feet and so behave somewhat differently than waves above 80Hz... and since they are non-directional... many very unusual subwoofer placements have proven the best location... particularly in acoustics challenged rooms such as yours. Give it a try. -HornED ------------------ Photo update soon! -HornEd
Max_Durham
HornED, Thanks for your reply. I guess I will play with the placement and hopefully it will work in a location suitable to the lady of the house. I'm sure I will have more questions as I am a new to HT. I've read for many months this forum and have high regard for your advise/opinion. Thanks for your reply. Max
