boa12
IM, i didn't know about it either til i got my new pre/pro & when going to certain digital cable tv movies in DD 2.0 i would see like "dialogue normalization +4db" pop up for the bitstream info. they explain that: "Dialnorm, as it is called, is supposed to compensate for the home-viewing environment by boosting the dialogue portions of a sound mix relative to the music and sound effects." it's encoded in the dolby mix/bitstream. so you can't contol it directly. of course you can always make eq & level type adjustments after the fact. ------------------ My Home Systems Page
