ImageOne with NON-Apple products?

I tried to use some ImageOne headphones with a Fender GDEC guitar practice amp. It has a regular 3.5mm headphone jack.

I only got full sound from the ImageOnes with the button pushed. I tried jiggling with the jack and only plugging it in partway to no avail.

I'm wondering if I used the 1/4" adapter and THEN plugged that into a seperate 1/4" to 3.5mm adapter would it get around the extra ring on the Iphone type jack that the ImageOnes come with.

I sent an email to Klipsch last week and never heard back with any suggestions. I ended up returning the phones and exchanging them for some Bose OE2s that sound good, but I'm already having a cable static issue with them after just a week.

I still want to see if my idea for the ImageOne will work or not.

Hi aaronbarnes,

Sorry you are having difficulties.

The issue is most likely that the ground connection does not line up where it needs to on the Image One plug. Since there is a microphone connection also, this area of the connection is smaller for the ground. You could try an extension cable or adapter to see if that fixes the issue. It will literally be hit or miss depending on the manufacturer and adapters as to whether it fixes it or not.

Thanks for your support of Klipsch!

I'm having the same exact problem with my ONEs (my topic is a couple below yours), only instead of a guitar amp the issue is with my home PC. I never noticed pressing the middle button gave me full sound! I'm off to figure out a semi-permanent clamp, I suppose... [*-)]

The Bose OE2's that I exchanged the IOnes for sound great, but they are actually TOO perfect. I couldn't get that big Klipsch sound out of my head.

I scored another pair of ImageOnes on Ebay for cheap and I'm going to try the Plug thing as soon as I can get to Guitar Center and try/buy a couple of adapters.

They have one of my amps in stock there, so I can just take in my Cans and try out some plugs and buy the ones that work. (hopefully something will.....)

These Klipsch phones really do sound good.

Mine work great with my computer.........Sorry yours didn't work out. It seems like they could include another adapter.

Seems to me like more people could use something to get around the middle button/microphone dilemma than really need the airplane adapter.
