Onform
Hi guys, one of the tweeters in my chorus 2's has stopped working! I took the whole horn assembly out of the cab to do some sanding but when I put it back it didn't work.. Also when I put pressure on the terminals pushing toward the horn they work but stop working as soon as I let go! Have I broken the lead outs? If so does it mean i need a new tweeter?? WMcD
Rather than buy a replacement tweeter, you can buy a new diaphragm assembly. It is not too difficult to install. 1-800-KLIPSCH may have them or Bob Crites may have them. If you find some brown goop in the magnet gap, leave it there. It is ferro fluid. You should also make note of which wire goes where. It may also be that the fiber board which receive the mounting screws around the mouth of the tweeter has stripped threads. You can firm it the holes with superglue and let it dry before mounting it.. WMcD
djk
For the best stereo image, I suggest replacing the pair and save the working original as a spare.
