how loud should the rear speakers be?

Fawas...the surround knob is your volume control for your rear speakers. Generally, you want your rear volume turned down to the point where you can't specifally hear sound from the rear. When it's on the edge like that, it will provide you good sound without overpowering the front speakers...where the majority of the sound should come from.

Problem Fixeds>

It seems I wired the promedias so fast that I used the same arrangement as my previous installtion(not compatible)

Anyways the rear speaker are as LOUDs>as the front.

Although I think some backround sounds are coming from the rear speakers (Excellent!)

Check this out.

If you plug the lavender plug into the front pair and the green into the rear miniplug you can then use the surround knob to reduce the sound from the speakers beside your monitor to match the level of the speakers farther away.(the rear) Then the main will adjust both front and rear in proportion.
