Rusty Melton
Hi Guys, I picked up a pair of La Scalas but I'm not sure how to read these date codes. Really to me none of them look like letters, but maybe there is a letter there? Anyway here's a couple pictures and any help would be appreciated. If it's any help they have the round magnet tweeters. Also here's a picture of them. And sorry the room looks like a tornado hit it, I didn't have time to tidy up.[] Thanks, Rusty
Budman
i'm saying the 8 is actually the letter S which stands for 1978 is there any stamping of numbers on the back top section in the wood someone tried to make the letters and numbers darker by going over them with a pen usually only 3 numbers come after the letter. 972 &
Rusty Melton
Yes you're right Budman, they look like S's on the stamping. What do think about the LS B?. One of them has LSBB and the other is LSBI? It is obvious now that point it out that someone has gone over it with a pen. Thanks for the help! Budman
LS stands for LaScala and the BB stands for Birch Black the I stands for Industrial
Rusty Melton
Thanks Russ, I appreciate the information. I'm betting that whoever marked over the writing on the serial numbers with the pen turned the one of the I's into a B on the other one, lol. Rusty Melton
Thanks, I thought they were pretty nice, not really beat up at all. There's a few scuffs here and there but nothing much as far as gouges, and the trim is in good shape. But the most important thing is they sound very nice and really have a lot of punch to them.
