Soundthought
I getting ready to do an overhaul on my quartets. I'm replacing the crossover in one and the passive woofer in the other. Both mid-horns have their dust boots blown out (looks like from the inside out). I don't know how to check them for damage. They still sound good so i'm not sure if I should mess with them right away. Any suggestions on what I could do to freshen my quarts up a bit? Some tweeks or mods? I gave myself a pretty good budget to get them rebuilt. Would love to get the most out of them that I can. All help will be appreciated. Thanks, A.R. dougdrake
AR - There was a post by member aabernathy some time ago about hot-rodding a pair of Forte's. I expect that the mods would be applicable to the Quartet as well, being in the same family and all that. Try searching using "aabernathy" as the search text and see what turns up. Also, Scott (sseymour) in this thread: http://216.37.9.58/ubb/Forum8/HTML/001164.html appears to have modified Fortes, and those mods may also apply to Quartets.
