Tabasco
Hi all, How does the audio-quality of a "Creative Labs" Audigy/Extigy/Live audio-card compare with a common Sony DVD/CD-player ? Let's say the bitrate of the MP3's is 320kb/s or higher... Is there even talk of comparison, or am I completely wrong ?
justin_tx_16
no comparison. a cd/dvd player of a computer is at at LEAST 700kbps JUST for audio, an mp3 is only at 320 max. DTS can get to 1400kbps. Creative labs stinks anyway for high quality sound. a home dvd player outputs exactly waht it gets, unless it has a digital onboard decoder, to your receiver to decode. a receiver can get up to a 192bit/48Hz decode, your computer, yours especially, can only do up to like 32bit/44Hz I think. ------------------ -justin SoundWise Support A technical help site created by me and my fellow Klipschers promediatech@Klipsch.com /1-888-554-5665 - RA# 800-554-7724 ext 5 s>

justin_tx_16
if just gaming, the audigy for sure. that is until we get the results of the ne Philips Acoustic Edge drivers, supposed to knoick the Audigy out of its high place in Gaming. For music in 4.1, Turtle Beach Santa Cruz. For music in 5.1 and movies and digital i/o, Hercules GTXP. ------------------ -justin SoundWise Support A technical help site created by me and my fellow Klipschers promediatech@Klipsch.com /1-888-554-5665 - RA# 800-554-7724 ext 5 s>
