dewthedru
Have a friend that can help me get some of this stuff for a cheap DIY acoustic treatment project. Will it work? http://www.knaufinsulation.us/sites/us.knaufinsulation.com/files/CI-ADB-DS%20Web.pdf Will build a couple corner traps and 2 panels on each side wall. Chris A
Recommend the 2 inch thick version. Chris
dewthedru
Other than that...a good material?
Chris A
The facing on the "room side" of the material needs to be raw - not covered with a film or other barrier. Rock wool probably isn't the favored material, however, since it is very itchy if touched. I'd recommend cotton lint squares (cheap is good)--here are examples: http://www.bondedlogic.com/oem-acoustical-products/, http://www.soundproofcow.com/Acoustic-Cotton/ and http://www.guitarcenter.com/Auralex-1--SonoFiber-2-x2-x1--panels--25-pack--109709816-i1176674.gc) https://www.gearslutz.com/board/bass-traps-acoustic-panels-foam-etc/211672-diy-ultratouch-cotton-bass-traps-broadband-absorbers.html http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/my-quick-and-dirty-cheap-and-easy-diy-bass-traps.276890/ I really do recommend dual Owens-Corning 703 fiberglass panels for corner bass traps, with zip-up sacks that cover them in pairs: http://www.readyacoustics.com/DIY-BASS-TRAPS-MADE-EASY.pdf http://www.readyacoustics.com/diy_acoustic_panels.html The bags are available online for a reasonable price and the 703 panels are available at Home Depot, etc. - so you don't have to pay for shipping of these large/bulky objects.
