Montego
I'm in the process of updating to titanium diaphragms. One of the mid drivers has came apart internally and the magnet is shifted. I destroyed the original diaphragm tryin to remove it. Bob Crites doesn't know of any repair so I'm beginning a search. Ebay is out of stock - I'm all ears! Jay L
I made a jig for this very driver at one time. While I got it back together, it was super tough to get a symmetrical gap. If you can't machine a jig, I would not attempt a repair. Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
Montego
Looks like the top metal plate was glued to the magnet. So I need some kind of spacers to align it on the magnet. What kind of glue did you use?
Jay L
2 part clear epoxy, likely came from wal-mart.
moray james
if you are looking to purchase one send me a pm. I would ask you to cover the asked price of the driver plus postage plus 3% pay pal fee. I mention this so you know in advance of what would be expected. Best regards moray james. PS: please advise if you require diaphragm or not.
marems
The k-53ti will work as a replacement diaphragm. But you would want to replace both since they are different material than the stock drivers. I replaced my 30's with the k-52 ti's bout 10 years ago, those were the ki-362 mid drivers, which speakers inspired me to try the titanium diaphragms. And klipsch stocks the 53's Edited December 24, 2015 by marems

Mr. Moray James is going to send a K-52 to me next week . I'll check on the K-53ti with Klipsch after Christmas since they are titanium. This problem is turning into fun
marems
Also the k-53 ti is a 1.75" diaphragm, and the k-52/52 ti diaphragms are 1.5". So in my opinion the 53 ti driver is superior to both k-52 diaphragms. Yes! It becomes very fun when you start upgrading the drivers!
