transmaster
I accidentally damaged the LFE/Line input RCA jacks on my RW-12II Subwoofer. I have a Blue Jeans Cable subwoofer cable with the Long Canard RCA plug. It was nailed by heavy art object I had on the top that fell over the back it destroyed the RCA plug and busted up the LFE Jack. I was unable to find a proper replacement in Mousers, or Allied Electronics. Does anyone have a real world part number? Klipsch's part number does not convert. I have a support ticket into Klipsch to see about obtaining the proper part. I have one question about the replacement job. What kind of solder does the boards in the plate amp use; lead, or lead free. I am equipped for both but it is kind of hard to tell. mustang guy
Would these work?: http://www.parts-express.com/parts-express-gold-rca-jack-solder-type-with-nut-pair--090-
transmaster
This style would probably work. The installed part has a plastic frame and a center screw to attach it to the backing plate. The center conductors are soldered to a board that is a right angles to the Jack. If I go with singles I am going to dump RCA's and install BNC's instead. I hate the RCA system it was a Turkey when introduced in 1946 and it has not improved any.
mustang guy
Heck yeah, bnc is a winner! PE has that too... edit: The only bad thing about bnc is if you go to sell the sub, you will have to explain yada yada... transmaster
I couldn't use BNC's there is not enough space between the existing hole to mount the style I have in the parts stash. I could not get the part from Klipsch, they wanted to sell me the whole plate amp for $220 Dollars. I don't think so, they wouldn't even sell me a service manual something about copyright BS. So I went to Mousers and ordered replacements, they are much better in quality then what Klipsch install to begin with. I really favor Switchcraft for parts like this. What I purchased was rear chassis mount RCA jacks.
