rosey1968
So I want to invest in a phono preamp but unsure what will work best with my set up. My system is a McIntosh C-28 pre-amp, McIntosh MC2105 amp and my turntable is a Music Hall MMF-5.3 with an Ortofon Blue cartridge. Speakers are KLF-20's with a C-7 center and a Mark Seaton sub. I mainly listed to 60's-80's rock. Even though my Mac's are fresh off rebuilds and completely in spec the phono section of my C-28 is a bit noisier than I would like at higher volumes. All the other inputs are dead quite so I want to get a phono preamp that is quitter. I have looked Vincent Audio products and Cambridge audio products under $500 which is about what I want to spend. Any experiences and advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
kevinmi
Look at Bellari phono amps. Tube buffered, around $300 bucks and good reviews. I have one somewhere in the basement!
