yankwb
Hey guys, I am new to the HT arena. I have tried to read these threads and feel a tad overwhelmed. I have a simple set up: Yamaha RX-V581bl Klipsch RF-3ii Klipsch RC-3ii Klipsch R-12SW I was running and older Yamaha, RX-V3300, and the front channels were a lot louder. I think it had 130 watts to the front whereas my current set up has like 70 or 80. My question is should I get a powered external amp for the fronts to help out,? If so, some suggestions.... I want the loudness for music, but primarily movies for the kids, not too loud. Any feedback would be great. Also, I will be getting some rears, just not sure what yet. I have been looking at the rs-3ii, rb-81, and rb-61. Will they make that much of a difference?
BluBitRates
Unfortunately your previous 3300 was a much higher level receiver, do you still have it? Your new one does not have preouts so you can not add an amplifier. The RS-3ii would be a perfect match for your system
yankwb
I still have it. I figured it did, but I wanted more of the functions that the newer ones had. Suppose I should have looked into the aventage series. My wife didn't like the other because of the size(didn't fit properly in the entertainment center. Thanks for the heads up.
