synthfreek
I can't make up my mind after listening to bits and pieces of a BUNCH of albums on cdnow.com. I'm tempted to get the 2 disc box set as it is highly recommended on several sites. I like the "darker" stuff I've listened to. I really like Nick Drake's guitar style if that's of any help. ------------------ Outlaw 1050 A/V Receiver Rega P3 Turntable AMC CD8b CD Player Toshiba 3108 DVD Player Klipsch KG 4.2s(main) 2 Dynaco A-10/V IIs(centers) Cerwin Vega E-706s(rears) Cerwin Vega LW-12(sub) Parasound PPH-100 Phono Preamp Vampire Wire Digital Interconnects & Speaker Wire
synthfreek
Not that anyone cares but I'll throw this out anyway. I purchased several John Fahey CDs including the "wanna make me throw my guitars in the trash heap" awesome album titled America. Just him and his guitar(which was masterfully recorded-when you hear people speak of recordings where it sounds like a guy playing guitar right in front of you this comes to mind). Very melancholy, beautilfully picked & in impossible to learn open-tunings. Please take a few minutes to check out the first 5 tracks on CDNOW or another site where you can preview tunes. If you're into Leo Kottke or guitar in general you will not be disappointed. I generally don't listen to fingerpicked, old-time country, slide, bluegrass, classical & blues hybrid guitar playing but then again I've never heard anyone perform this sort of thing before. I also believe I've won the fewest views in a month contest. Go discuss XXX instead :-)
