amd
I have Klipsch RPW-10 subwoofer which I want to connect to Marantz SR 5004 receiver. The receiver manual recommends using SW (RCA) jack using a single wire to connect to the subwoofer if the subwoofer is powered (having its own amplifier). RPW-10 is a powered subwoofer. The subwoofer manual indicates that this single wire (from the receiver's SW jack) should be connected to the LEFT/LFE (Line-In) jack of the subwoofer. But my dealer told me to connect this single wire to both the RIGHT and the LEFT/LFE jacks (Line-In) using a Y connector. My question is which of these two methods (connecting to only LEFT/LFE jack or connecting to both RIGHT and LEFT/LFE jacks using a Y connector) is correct? Thanks in advance
The History Kid
Either of these is acceptable. I use a Y-adapter, but that doesn't really mean much. It's a line level signal and a standard line signal coming from your AVR. Splitting it does nothing since there's only one channel of amplification in the subwoofer.
