Reference Center with Synergy Speakers?

Since upgrading to Pro Logic from stereo 6 years ago, I have continue to have problems getting clear dialog at lower volumes. I frequently have to watch DirecTV at lower volumes (around 60-65 spl on Radio Shack meter) because my kids are sleeping in the room adjacent to the home theater. Dialog is harder to understand at these levels especially if it mixed in with the music, explosions, etc typical in movies and shows such as Farscape.

My system currently consists of Synergy SB-2 for mains, Synergy SB-1 for surrounds, and my old KV-2 for a center. These speakers are set to small on my Yamaha 995 receiver which sends all the bass below 90hz to the sub in both analog and digital modes. When I discussed the low volume dialog problem with my dealer, he suggested that upgrading to the Klipsch Reference Center would be a better solution than changing to the smaller Synergy Center. Will changing to either of these speakers make any difference versus the KV-2?
