sgtlarsen
How you all doing? If I can find some older Speakers(maybe klipschorn,Heresy), maybe at a yard sale our auction real cheap, Should i worry about them being blown. Our can i get the speakers replaced fairly inexspensive. Where can I find replacement speakers and how much do they ussually cost. I know it probablly depends on the speaker. One more question will a replaced speaker be as good as an Orginal. Thanks for putting up with my dumb questions.
JohnA
Well Sarge, you should be at least concerned about blown drivers. All of the Heritage drivers can be overhauled for about $75 each, so a blown driver is no problem. Most of the other Klipsch drivers can be overhauled as well. To test them take a 1.5 volt battery and rub the leads to each driver across the battery terminals. A scratching sound indicates continuity through the voicecoil and a high probability of a good driver. Only a listening test will confirm the drivers are good. sgtlarsen
Thanks John! I was also wondering can you buy replacement Driver covers( I dont know the correct name, the cloth on the front of the speakers)
dougdrake
If you mean the "grills" that cover the entire front of the speaker, yes you can buy speaker cloth to recover them with. Klipsch sometimes has some you can buy -- call parts at 1-800-KLIPSCH -- or you can find it at a good cloth store. DD
