mustang guy 2240 Posted July 2, 2018 I have KG 4.2 towers I am thinking about putting Crites titanium diagrams in to replace the ones in the K-85 tweeters. My center channel has a K-86 which I cannot find titanium for. What are the thoughts on putting a surface mount dome titanium tweeter in place of the existing K-86 in the 2.5 to try to brighten it up and timbre match as well as possible? I would be inclined to leave them all the same, for maximum accuracy of imaging and timbre match across the front. There is also the matter of sensitivity. mustang guy 2240 Posted July 2, 2018 Does Bob still hang out now and then? As for timbre, the 86 and 85 re not really very well matched. The tweeter material is even different. I agree on the sensitivity. That might need tweaked which would be easy enough. I would just buy the tweeter from PE probably.
