They're brand new (although the boxes are opened, they haven't been used). I picked-up 3 pairs of the shakers from Smarthome.com (few blocks from where I worked) at $119/pair, but I realized I only need 2 pairs to shake my couch. I also bought a brand new Samson Servo 120 at SamAsh.com at $189.00 but decided to use my old Kenwood VR-407 to power the shakers.
