  1. I live in Fontana near Baseline and 15 freeway. Fellow forum members nearby are welcome.
  2. Hi, I liked the diffuse effect of my RS-7s during movies, but in some type of music I wished it produced a more localize sound effect. I've read that Klipsch designed the RS-7 so that it will be out-of-phase ? (i'm not so sure what I'm talking about, but you know what I mean). For experimental purposes, can I change the wiring connections inside so it will not anymore be out-of-phase? I mainly use my system for music and I prefer a localize effect on my surround speakers.
  3. Hi, I have a brand new SVS PB2+ for sale in the Fontana, San Bernardino County, California. I am selling it for 1150 firm. I'll be contacting SVS for a return authorization if it won't sell in a few days. (I'm just trying to save a little on return shipping). Pick-up only. Email me at bterce@matrixcomputer.com if you're interested.
  4. JewishAmerPrince, Congrats! I understand there is a few weeks backorder for this sub, so how long did it take them to ship your PB2+ after you made your order? I'm waiting for mine.
  5. I too have bad experiences with my Reference speakers. I accidentally put pressure on my white RS-7 when installing, and a streak of black ink appeared on the grill. When I finally done installing, one of the RS-7 did not make any sound, after removing the connector-panel at the back of the speaker, I found out that one of wires was disconnected. I also found out that the connectors inside are no better than what you can find at Radio Shack. My problem right now is the stain in my white RS-7. I don't want to go back to my dealer because we had a big argument regarding a cancelled order (we don't like each other anymore). I called tech support, and basically they told me to go back to my dealer or go to H#$@&*^. What a shame.
  6. I just purchased a second pair of white RS-7s (from an authorized dealer) for my 6th and 7th channels. First problem: While holding the speaker, I accidently put a little pressure on the grill, and suddenly I see a big streak of black stain on the white grill cloth. It happened to me a year ago with my white SS1s. Fortunately, PhilH and Trey helped me get a free replacement. Second Problem: After the stain incident, I decided to remove the grill and hang the speakers on the wall. It looked good. However, when I turned on my receiver, there was no sound from one of the new RS-7s. I thought maybe my wires are screwed up (which run across the ceiling). I connected my old SS1 to the same wires and it worked. After, proving that its not the wires, I got my screw driver and remove the connector panel at the back of the RS-7. Guess what? One of the connectors inside (the red one) is not connected and the black connector is also about half way to being disconnected, it's very loose. A good quality control should have noticed the problem. I also noticed that the wire connectors inside looks very cheapy. I wish I still have all the receipts for all my expensive banana plugs, I could have returned them for a cheaper ones. I don't think it really matters. Third problem: I just called Klipsch customer service, I explained what happened to my RS7 grill and expect a free replacement. The guy said, he has to charge me $54.00 plus tax+shipping for a grill replacement, unless I talked to the Klipsch dealer @#$%&*#. First of all, the Klipsch dealer is about 70 miles from our place and I don't want to talk to them anymore after we have an argument regarding a canceled order for a pair of Quintet speakers. So now I'm stuck. All these "Wired With Monster" cable logo is bull$@#^&*%. Calling Klipsch: I already fixed the wiring problem, I just want a replacement of my white RS-7 grill. My gear: RF-7s RC-7 1 pair black RS-7s 1 pair of STAINED white RS-7s Dual RSW-15s StageOne (replacing Pioneer 45tx) Aragon 2007
  7. I need to install the Klipsch RCW5 in-wall speaker for my surround. Question: What is the ideal height for the in-wall speaker installation? FYI-my ceiling height is 8 feet, if that matters.
  8. I bought the 45tx primarily because I like the sound. The MCACC feature however was a nice bonus, give it two minutes and you're set. Very nice feature and it really works.
  9. I had the opportunity to do an A/B comparison of both receivers (3803 and 45tx) at two different authorized dealers for several hours (they used PSB Stratus speakers) and end up buying the 45TX. I paid $779.00+tax.
  10. For 6-year olds, it make sense. Children should not be allowed to post in this forum.
  11. I have an extra 1 pair of Auro Pro Bass Shakers and a Samson Servo 120 amplifier (60 watts x 2) for sale. They're brand new (although the boxes are opened, they haven't been used). I picked-up 3 pairs of the shakers from Smarthome.com (few blocks from where I worked) at $119/pair, but I realized I only need 2 pairs to shake my couch. I also bought a brand new Samson Servo 120 at SamAsh.com at $189.00 but decided to use my old Kenwood VR-407 to power the shakers. Sell price or Best Offer 2 Auro Pro Bass shakers (50 watts) - $100.00 1 Samson Servo 120 Amp 140.00 plus shipping.. If interested contact me at Bterce@matrixcomputer.com
  12. I wonder if anybody here recommends a Bass Shaker. Right now my "*** shaker" is my dual RSW-15s (one on the front wall with the RF7s and the other on the side), and a KSW-12 (at the back, only turned on for HT not on music). Seriously, I am considering a Bass Shaker installed on my sofas. Any advice?
  13. You get 6dB boost from stacking two subs because as what I understood on several posts, you get 6dB increase on each additional sub. So the 6dB increase was attained not because there were two subs, but because you added another one. Assuming this is right, from 96dB to 110, it needs close to 3 additional subs. Four subs in all!! First sub- 96dB second 102 third 108 fourth 114 This message has been edited by bryan2 on 08-14-2002 at 10:49 AM
  14. Few months ago my wife bought a Barry Manilow concert DVD. The DVD has Dolby Digital and DTS tracks. I always use DTS over DD (of course if DTS is an option)when playing DVDs. However, when I tried both (on Barry M DVD), I've noticed that the bass on the Dolby Digital tracks has more punch (so much more actually) compared to DTS. With DD I can really hear my RSW-15 pounding with loud and very tight bass. When in DTS, increasing the subwoofer volume level couldn'nt even match the extra "punch" I got from the DD tracks. I tried on other DVDs and did not notice any difference. This message has been edited by bryan2 on 08-12-2002 at 01:57 PM
