bjz
Are either the large double flange or small double flange Klipsch replacement eartips different from what was shipped with the X11i? I ordered some large double flange to replace the originals I lost*. I have reason to suspect they might be different based on their isolation, and because the back portion is flimsier than I remember the originals being. I could be mistaken though. There was also a comment on Amazon about the Klipsch replacements being different and not fitting the same way on the earphones. Mine don't have that problem. I use these for the off-label purpose of blocking the noise from my neighbor's truck, for which the performance of the originals was extraordinary,. Both sizes of double flange blocked 100% of the noise and outperformed the highest NRR rated earplugs on the market, even with no music I also have the smaller size double flange which perform as well as the originals. Those came from Klipsch when they replaced my earphones under warranty. But the large double flange replacements I purchased aren't performing nearly as well. I never saw much difference between the small and large with the originals. Both made a very good seal, but I didn't do a controlled experiment. *I didn't exactly lose them. I sent them to Klipsch along with my earphones for replacement warranty work, and they didn't send them back or replace them with the same type. Deang
The originals are oval shaped (like your ear canal), not round - which is why they are so comfortable and fit better. You can buy replacements directly from Klipsch.
bjz
Sorry I wasn't clear. I bought and received the Klipsch replacement ear tips in the large double flange size. I'm questioning whether they are really the same as the originals that shipped with the X11i. They seem flimsier than I recall, and I suspect an isolation difference, though I could be wrong. I'm hoping someone from Klipsch can tell me if they are the same or if there has been a change. Edited December 9, 2018 by bjz
