elgrillo
What do you guys think is the best $150 amp to go with the 2531 cs? Do you think there is a big difference between the 2531pci and the 2039cs?
dougdrake
Several have used the 250 watt plate amp at www.partsexpress.com to power the CS subs. You might have to build a box to mount it in, but it is inexpensive. I believe the only difference between the CS and PCi is that one is powered and one is not. What will make the big difference to you is the size, not whether it is self-powered. The 20-39 is kind of the best of both worlds -- accuracy and bottom-feeding. elgrillo
If the only difference betweenthe pci and cs is the amplification then why get the 2531cs (pluas the cost of an amp) and not the 2531 pci, since it comes out cheaper? fabulousfrankie
I think some people just like the convenience of everything built in to one unit.
dougdrake
As FF said. Also, some people have some spare amps around that they could use, making the CS less expensive. And, some would rather put a more robust amp on it than the one that comes in the PCi version. So, you can get anything you want at Tom and Ron's sub shop (hold the mustard, please).
