tankhokie
In english - Anyone with a set up of RF3-II's, RS3-II's, and RC3-II's being pushed by a 6 channel amp...what did you use for a rear center channel speaker? A single RS3-II to match? or is it too "wide" for a rear center and undiscernable from the L/R surrounds? A RC3-II? big black nasty box to mount and aim? I am interested in hearing how either of these as a rear center sounds from people that have it hooked up. Thanks for your help guys. boa12
tank, i'd lean toward using a rc-3 for the reasons i've stated numerous times before, but when it comes down to it the only way you'll know for sure for your ears is to demo each at your place. skonopa
I used to have a 6-channel Reference 3 setup. I used an RC-3 II as the rear center. I now have all Reference 7 speakers, with an RC-7 in the rear. Unless you have a very wide rear, for the rear center, I would try to get the same thing being used as the front center (that is timbre matched with your surrounds). tankhokie
with the RC3-II as your rear center (and currently RC-7) do you have it pointed down at an angle towards the listening position? I am assuming a 5-7' wall mount-let me know how you have your rear center mounted and an estimate of the distance between your rear surrounds also (if you don't mind sharing) Thanks
marksdad
again i auditioned them all at the same time, and i went with the rc, because it just had better sound than the rs, and it really did not need to be aimed, i just positioned it behind the center listener and walla, it sounded fantastic
