Mike Lindsey
On Saturday, Forum member Erik Johnson and I went to the local Antique Wireless Group's swapmeet, where I managed to find a couple of good deals. I picked up a B&K Dyna-Jet 606 tube tester, as well as a 100 watt solder gun (for $5). I also bought 8 classical albums (all German pressings from the 60's) for $4 total and they all seem to be in excellent condition. As we were leaving, Erik ended up buying a brand new Radio Shack SPL meter that had never been used for $2. These things retail for over $30. They had all kinds of stuff there, but it was mostly older, vintage radios and numerous spare parts. After it was over, I went over to Erik's house and checked out his rig. He has Khorns, La Scala's, Cornwalls and Heresy's all hooked up to one system. This system rocked, big time! I couldn't get over how low and loud his Khorns could get all by themselves. All in all, we had a fun time and look forward to getting together again soon... Mike
erikjohn
Mike, It was great having you over. Your the first person I have had over to listen to my system since I have lived in Orlando. Unfortunatly I don't get out much. We will definitely have to do it again. If I remember right we hitting 120 distortion free db's per the new spl meter on the khorns with no problem. BTW, I really liked your Vette. EJ
Mike Lindsey
Erik, We'll get together soon. I'll have you and Karen over for dinner and a movie when it's convenient for the both of you. BTW, I picked up some Telefunken 12AX7's off of eBay for my Scott last night. I can hardly wait to hear 'em! Mike
