lovedrummin
Just got Linda Ronstadt's "What's New" DVD-Audio. This was her first recording with Nelson Riddle & His Orchestra. I was really looking forward to the strings and horns. I wasn't disappointed. Ronstadt's voice is fantastic and the instrumnets have a full, rich sound. I was really impressed with the sound of the sax. Well, gotta go. I also got "Fragile" by Yes and haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. WMcD
Thanks for the heads up on LR and What's New. A buddy of mine is a fan of hers and you've pointed out a good Christmas present for the guy. I was quite astounded by "What's New". A terrific cover of classic tunes. I thought Linda was just a good country western singer, and Nelson Riddle Orchestra just a good set of performers. Also, that as good as they are, the classic pop songs were best appreciated by an earlier generation. Perhaps their "Beatles" in the zeitgeist of the first half of last century. Nope, this is wonderful stuff. She certainly is tops. Gil
lovedrummin
Got my copies of LR "What's New" and Yes "Fragile" through www.dvdplanet.com. Prices were reasonable. S&H was $2.50 for first item and then .50 each item after that. Seems like the prices for DVD-Audios are dropping on the internet. Still kind of high at Best Buy.
