Lone Palm
My RC-3 sets atop a Magnovox 27" TV. At loud listening levels I have noticed video noise.Does the RC-3 have shielding problems and if so is there a quick fix?
Guest BobG
I don't fully understand what you mean by "video noise at loud listening levels". If you see picture changes, make sure it is not mechanical in nature. Do you get the same problem if you hit the TV with your fist (gently)? Could be the vibration of the speaker shaking the electron guns or the shadow mask in the tube and causing picture degradation. What does the 'video noise' look like? Lone Palm
It is sort of grey bands that undulate with the audio. Located at top of TV screen. Does not occur unless the volume is extremely loud. Never have it this loud when watching movies but I tend to crank it when watching DVD concerts. USparc
Hi all, I had the same problem, even wors. For a short time I had put my RC3 also on top of my previous TV(now have a Thomson RearProjection). Indeed you here some noise comming from the RC3, even when the amplifier is turned off ]. Solutions: 1. Put the RC3 on a stand 2. Get a rear projection TV
Guest BobG
Lone, sorry for the delay in reply. the bars you see on the TV during very loud playback are not from magnetic interference so "shileding" is not the issue. The problem is from vibration of the TV's electro-mechanics coming from the center speaker. Isolate that speaker from the TV with a towel or some feet that are rubbery and the problem will go away.
